Scope of Work: Carbon Fibre Strengthening of concrete slabs to allow the installation of a new steel staircase.
Redevelopment of an existing 1970’s building ‘change of use’ from general office space, into a conference and meeting centre. Extensive remodelling of the existing RC slabs to incorporate multi-level staircase and access points. Key issue was that the proposed design alterations from the new openings significantly increase forces to the adjacent slabs, introducing potential new sagging moments. Solution included the concrete slab strengthening using Fibrwrap Carbon Fibre Strengthening Systems in both directions.
