Scope of Works: Concrete Repairs and Strengthening of pipes with 2 layers of Tyfo WEB and 2 layers of Tyfo SCH Carbon Fibre Strengthening Systems.
E.ON Energy, one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies contacted us to survey some 900mm diameter pipes that transfer cooling water from the nearby river to the condensers. The pipes were suffering from severe corrosion and there was a clear risk of failure. CCUK (Fibrwrap) designed a carbon fibre strengthening system that was capable of carrying the 3 bar pressure the pipe was originally designed for.
